I'm a software engineer and technical product leader based in London. At Bloomberg, I work on Terminal SDLC & Tooling: how engineers build, test, and ship software. Before moving into product, I spent more than three years building C++ and TypeScript infrastructure on the Application Frameworks team.

The thread through my work is developer tools. I’m interested in what happens beneath the interface—how a runtime executes code, how a compiler transforms it, and how a good tool makes a difficult problem easier to understand.

Learning in public

Writing gives me a reason to slow down and explain what I’m learning. Sometimes that means working through C++ pointers. Sometimes it means remembering a friend. Both belong here.

I also teach Chrome DevTools and web accessibility at Frontend Masters. Debugging, performance, and making the web usable for more people are topics I keep coming back to.

I created the Bloomberg JavaScript Blog, have written for the Cloudflare Blog, and help organize JSConf Hawai'i.

The path here

I've worked across browser engineering, web applications, developer advocacy, and infrastructure at Bloomberg, Cloudflare, Adobe, Brave, Twitter, and Barracuda Networks. The roles have changed; the interest in helping people build has stayed with me.

Beyond the code

Kelly and I moved to London in 2022 with our puppy, Freya. Our first year involved a lot of walking, visits from friends, trips around the UK, and slowly making a new city feel like home. I wrote about it here.
